Origin Lombok

We stayed at Origin Lombok at the end of July/beginning of August and had the most wonderful time — truly one of our favorite family holidays ever. From the start, we felt completely welcomed. We were traveling with our three young sons, and having two pool-facing suites next to each other was perfect. The rooms were exactly as shown in the photos, but somehow felt even more spacious in real life. The pool and the whole layout of the hotel are beautiful, and the restaurant was excellent — so good that even after a longer stay we never got tired of it. What really made our stay special, though, was the staff. The service was always warm, thoughtful, and full of smiles. Traveling with three kids can sometimes be a challenge, but here we felt relaxed and completely at home. Our children had the best time too, which made it even harder to leave. We especially want to thank Nana, Ari, and Roni — who were incredibly kind and attentive, and made such a difference to our stay. The staff really went above and beyond, and it’s clear how much they care about their guests. We absolutely loved the island, the hotel, and the people. Leaving was hard — we honestly didn’t want to go! Thank you, Origin Lombok, for such a memorable experience. We can’t wait to come back.

Restaurant food is amazing, staff are really friendly and helpful, great communication. Grounds are really well maintained. Slightly out of town location is good for us, a >5 min scooter ride in.

My partner and I recently stayed at Origins Lombok, and it was an unforgettable experience that blended stunning surroundings with exceptional hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by incredibly friendly staff who made us feel instantly welcome, guiding us to our rooms with warmth and enthusiasm. The rooms themselves were spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed, with decent bathrooms that met all our needs. The lush, vibrant greenery surrounding the hotel created a serene, tropical ambiance that felt like a slice of paradise. The massive pool was a highlight—absolutely beautiful and perfect for chilling out, whether lounging with a book or soaking in the views. The buffet breakfast was a daily delight, offering a massive array of options to suit every palate. The omelettes were cracking, but my personal favorite was the indulgent chocolate pancake—a sweet start to the day! Each morning, we were greeted by a lovely staff member whose big smile and warm welcome became a highlight of our meals. His infectious positivity set the tone for the day and made us look forward to breakfast even more. What truly sets Origins Lombok apart is the exceptional customer service. Every staff member we encountered was delightful, but a few stood out for their incredible warmth and engagement. Ani, Ari, and Rengge were absolute gems—always talkative, engaging, and treating us more like friends than guests. Their genuine care made our stay feel personal and memorable. However, the true star of our trip was Medy, a staff member who became a lifelong friend to me and my partner, Kate. Medy’s outgoing, polite, and genuinely friendly nature elevated our entire experience. He greeted us daily with enthusiasm, entertained us with magic tricks, and went above and beyond when I came down with the flu. Not only did he source herbal teas and medicine from local shops, but he also checked in on me with such kindness that it felt like family caring for us.

What a vibe! Origin Lombok in Kuta was hands down the best accommodation of my life. The place is stunning – tropical, peaceful, and full of good energy. The staff were absolute legends, always friendly and ready to help with a smile. The spa was heavenly, the food was next level, and the cleaning was impeccable – everything spotless and perfectly kept. Huge thanks to Ari for making our stay extra special. You truly made us feel at home. Can’t wait to come back for more good times!

My wife and I stayed at Origin for about 4 weeks, so this will be a detailed review! First, Origin’s location was ideal for us. It’s a 5–10m scooter ride from Kuta Central, which has become much livelier (and noisier) since our first visit to Lombok 5 years ago. While Kuta Central is great for dining and entertainment, we cherished waking up and sleeping in a peaceful, noise-free environment that allowed us to truly unwind. It's also 5m ride from some of the best beaches & surfing spots! The peaceful and private ambiance was a standout for us. The hotel maintains an intimate vibe. While we occasionally saw other guests checking in, we never felt their presence during our stay, which made the experience truly serene. Of the two swimming pools, we only used one, which was perfect for unwinding on our non-surfing days. Its long curvy design made it ideal for laps in the morning. We sometimes enjoyed breakfast and happy hour by the pool which also felt intimate. The hotel's coworking space was fantastic addition since we needed to work during our stay. Our room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully decorated, with a terrace that became our favorite spot for morning stretches and relaxing breaks. All pictures on Booking are 100% accurate. Anyone visiting Origin will feel the same as we did: the team feels like a family and is extraordinary. They are genuinely caring, making every effort to ensure you feel at home. In fact, you’ll wish it was your home! Special thanks to Dee, Medi, and Junaidi for their warmth, jokes, cultural insights, and language lessons — you made our stay so memorable! ++ Origin gives the option to swap your room with their sister property, Amber Hotel located at Selong Belanak — a gorgeous spot ideal for beginner surfers or those not focused on surfing. Although we didn’t try it ourselves, we think it’s a fantastic option! In summary, our 4 weeks at Origin were so enjoyable that we're coming back in January :)
